Metaverse: Is This The Future Of Tech?

The first chapter of the metaverse has already begun. While it's still missing many of the features that will truly make it a next-generation digital experience, we're already seeing fascinating use cases and applications from augmented reality, virtual reality, 3D social media platforms, blockchain-based marketplaces, and much more. Virtual and augmented reality aims to revolutionize the way we interact with each other, taking our interactions from two-dimensional to three-dimensional. They will also introduce a new form of communication, one that allows users to feel like they are actually present at the moment with the user they are interacting with.

What is the metaverse?

The metaverse is a digital universe in which most user interactions take place. Often the term is used to describe such a shared virtual reality after the arrival of widespread broadband Internet access and powerful home computers capable of running such technology. The metaverse was a concept first popularized by Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel Snow Crash. The metaverse which is the granddaddy of science fiction has opened up new frontiers and is a universe of infinite possibilities. It's up to you how your journey unfolds!

The rise of the metaverse- why does it matter?

The metaverse is the next frontier in human connectivity. Even before the Covid-19 pandemic, digital communities were on a path to supplant physical ones. While the real world has been at a standstill, the virtual one has continued to thrive — even grow. In fact, it’s actually booming. One of the changes that our civilization is set to undergo is the development of the Metaverse. With over 2.5 billion people out on virtual platforms like Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet, 2020 saw an unexpected spike in VR technology, applications, and gadgets.

Welcome to the metaverse!

The pandemic has forced us all to re-invent our lives and brought technology closer to education than ever before. While many platforms quickly sprung up, it is widely acknowledged that none of them are the silver bullet that can solve the problem at scale. For instance, the Invact Metaversity is live and it's a multi-way interactive place that is the next generation of online learning.

The beginnings of this virtual universe will see a rise in communication, entertainment and business sectors. With everyone stuck at home, their growth has exploded, offering people - especially those who are not tech-savvy - a way to recreate social interaction and deepen their relationships with friends and family. As the technology catches up with demand, we will see the metaverse evolve into new forms of work, play, and interaction.

Is the metaverse the future of technology? A deep dive into the metaverse tech and its future!

Innovation is constantly changing the world we live in. A few years back, few of us could have realized the global impact that social media would have. The advent of blockchain has introduced a new avenue for innovations across industries. Imagine interacting with brands and avatars; imagine being able to buy/sell any sort of products without being restricted by time or location.

The future of the metaverse is closely tied to its ability to address the two fundamental needs of all humans: to connect and to create. It is constantly being developed and it is soon predicted to reach most aspacts of human life including eCommerce, sales and marketing, decentralized finance, crypto businesses, etc. This eCommerce experience is far more immersive than any available on the internet where people can buy, sell and create their own products in the 3D world.

The potential for the metaverse could prove to be the next big market for e-commerce–where goods sold only exist in virtual reality. The idea of buying and selling digital property where a user can log on through a 3D avatar is not just limited to video games. While still considered a risky investment, owning digital property in the metaverse has shown to be a promising future and an exciting part of our growing tech landscape.

Endnote

Metaverse is the next frontier for a digitalized world. It will encompass all the facets of human life and has no boundaries. The metaverse will unlock the potential of a few billion people and collectively change our lives. It is the coming amalgamation of cyberspace and physical reality. Take a virtual journey around the world or even to outer space without leaving your couch; time travel and do anything your heart desires in a world created by you.
