BUSINESS REQUIREMENT
Build a web application that would streamline construction project management, reduce global warming potential (GWP), and enhance sustainability. The goal was to provide a centralized platform for users and construction companies to access and manage data easily.
CHALLENGES IN EXECUTION & SOLUTIONS
This was not a conventional project. We encountered a few challenges that needed careful planning and strict processes to solve them without compromising Reduzer targets.
The application initially lacked a well-defined folder structure, hindering maintainability in line with client requirements.
We encountered an unexpected surge in billing costs within the client application which had to be fixed in priority.
Integrating Speckle to extract construction data from saved BIM models was challenging because the existing documentation lacked specific guidance for Vue.js.
OUR SOLUTION
Our evaluation showed that an integrated application would be a comprehensive way to achieve the sustainable goals set. We mapped a plan to engineer a tool that can handle the entire supply chain management cycle (without compromising on user experience and data security).

OUR APPROACH
We followed an agile methodology with sprint planning, iterative design and development, rigorous testing, and regular client engagement.
- In our pursuit of Reduzer’s cutting-edge status, we undertook a comprehensive modernization. We migrated the project to Vue.js v3 and Vuetify v3, and implemented a well-defined folder structure for improved maintainability. The billing spikes were addressed by optimizing cloud functions, implementing throttling, and adviseding budget alerts. Finally, by collaborating with Speckle developers, we integrated Speckle login, BIM connector, and 3D viewer for construction data extraction.

RESULTS
Reduzer underwent a significant transformation. The resulting app is a more robust and future-proof construction management solution for minimizing Global Warming Potential (GWP). We successfully integrated third-party tools to enable functionalities like instant product search, pivot tables and 3D model integration.
A comprehensive codebase restructuring significantly improved maintainability and stability, minimizing potential issues and simplifying future adaptations.
The final product is a leap towards sustainable construction practices with Reduzer’s help.
